It’s with mixed emotions that we at BOOM Esports announce the departure of Mario “Ilich-” Valdivia from our DOTA 2 roster.

Ilich’s talent and dedication have been a valuable asset to our team throughout his time here. We’ve shared some incredible experiences together, and his presence will definitely be missed.

Many of you might not know Ilich’s full story. He started out grinding in the South American scene, honing his skills in amateur and university leagues. His early days with Gorillaz-Pride Blue were a stepping stone, and his breakout moment came when he filled NoName’s shoes for Latam Defenders in the Movistar Liga Pro Gaming Final Series.

That performance caught the attention of Infinity Esports, where Ilich truly started making waves. With Ilich, BOOM has secured a strong second-place finish in the Lower Division of the DPC season, proving his potential as offlaner and even came close to taking down Infamous at Movistar Liga Pro Gaming Season 8!

Unfortunately, things didn’t go quite as planned in the next DPC season’s Upper Division. Facing relegation, Ilich decided to take a break from competitive DOTA 2 to focus on his studies. This dedication to education truly speaks volumes about his character.

His return with TMU and subsequent switch to North America with 5ManMidas showed his hunger to compete at the highest level. We were thrilled when he joined BOOM Esports, and his experience on the global stage with teams like Thunder Awaken was undeniable.

While Ilich’s time with BOOM Esports has come to an end, we wish him nothing but the absolute best in his future endeavors. He’s a talented player with a bright future ahead, and we have no doubt he’ll continue to achieve great things.
