BOOM Esports has taken its largest step into becoming a global brand with the addition of its newest division, INTZ, a Brazilian Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) team.
“Counter Strike has always been one of my favorites. I would have never entered Esports or watched an Esports match if not for these two titles. I’ve always dreamed of having a team who played in major CS:GO and DOTA tournaments,” said Gary Ongko Putera, CEO and founder of BOOM Esports.
BOOM’s roster will consist of: Gustavo “yeL” Knittel—as the team’s in-game leader, Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes, Bruno “shz” Martinelli, Ricardo “Boltz” Prass, João “felps” Cabral Vasconcellos and Alessandro “Apoka” Marcucci as its coach.
“This year gave us various opportunities to acquire players and teams globally. I saw the ex-INTZ roster as our best choice. Their common vision and mission to become a legendary team was definitely aligned to ours. With our support, we hope they can realize their dreams and full potential and become the world’s best CS: GO team,” explained Gary.
This support was crucial in acquiring this world-class roster. “BOOM’s structure and support convinced us that they will take care of it all, so we can focus on playing our best. That trust was fundamental and instrumental in this partnership,” says Alessandro “Apoka” Marcucci.
“We aim to be a global top 15 team this year. With BOOM’s support, we are even more confident of achieving that. I sincerely hope we can grow together and bring BOOM’s name to even greater heights within the CS:GO scene”, added Alessandro “Apoka” Marcucci.
João “felps” Cabral Vasconcellos, former player of MIBR (Made in Brazil)—one of the top Brazilian Esports organization whose players frequently plays with beloved Brazilian footballer, Neymar—was just as excited about joining BOOM and its roster. “I wanted to play with my old teammates again and I think that being with them and in a good organization will be a great new beginning for my career. I look forward to what is to come.” he said.
With the debut BOOM’s second international roster, adding on to their announcement of a new Freefire division, BOOM EXP, in Thailand just last week; BOOM is showing their commitment to being the most competitive Esports organization locally, regionally and globally.
“For all the BOOM Esports fans, I’m not saying this lightly when I say BOOM will take over the world—this is Where Champions Are Made. Let’s welcome our new friends from Brazil and to our fans in Brazil, please support them in all the tournaments. I’m confident they can become the best team in the world. Stay Hungry, Hungry Beast. ” said Gary Ongko Putera.
“To the BOOM fans in Indonesia, we will do our best to represent you, your flag and the BOOM shirt!” said Alessandro “Apoka” Marcucci, coach of BOOM Esports CS:GO.
The next tournament that will be attended by BOOM Esports Brazil is ESL Pro League Season 11. This international event will bring together the top 24 CS: GO teams from all over the world to win a total prize of US$ 750,000 (~IDR 10,419 billion).
