The Honor of Kings International Championship (KIC) 2025 was a spectacular global battle, and we, BOOM Esports, are incredibly proud of the fight and resilience shown by our squad on the world stage. While our journey in the Knockout Stage has come to an end, we bow out as one of the best teams in the world, securing a respectable 5th-6th place finish.
This tournament, featuring a massive $1,000,000 USD prize pool and held in the Philippines, pushed every team to their limits. For BOOM, it was a period of immense growth and hard-fought victories.
Our path through the KIC 2025 Knockout Stage was a true test of the team’s mental fortitude and strategic depth, played across grueling Best-of-7 (Bo7) series:
- Upper Bracket Quarterfinals: We began the bracket against our strong rivals, Blacklist International. Unfortunately, BOOM fell short with a 1-4 scoreline, immediately dropping us into the unforgiving Lower Bracket.
- Lower Bracket Round 1: Showing true Hungry Beast spirit, the team immediately bounced back and delivered a dominant performance, sweeping Vesakha Esports with a clean 4-0 victory to keep our World Championship dreams alive.
- Lower Bracket Quarterfinals (Elimination Match): Our run concluded against the powerful Malaysian squad, Alpha Gaming. After a challenging series, BOOM was defeated with a final score of 1-4. Despite stellar moments—such as the crucial Guan Yu picks by Miggie and playmaking from KarllL that secured our single game win—Alpha Gaming proved too strong, ultimately sending us home.
Led by Coach Crow and Ciiyan, we finished KIC 2025 in the 5th-6th place bracket, sharing the position with Twisted Minds. This finish is a huge accomplishment, marking us as a major global contender and securing $60,000 USD in prize money.
While the sting of elimination is real, we take immense pride in the fight the team demonstrated. The Hungry Beast community has been the backbone of this success, and we deeply appreciate your unwavering support from the Group Stage to the Knockout Stage.
We take the lessons learned from this S-Tier tournament, the clutch plays, and the moments of intense pressure, and we commit to coming back stronger in the next season. Stay Hungry, Hungry Beast!
