Our desire to win never wanes at BOOM Esports. We just hit the stage at the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 4 (KIS4), which was hosted right here in Jakarta, and we are known as the “Hungry Beasts” of the Indonesian esports scene. It was a trip full of fierce conflicts, calculated victories, and insightful discoveries.
We are immensely delighted to have placed between third and fourth among the top teams in the area, even though we didn’t win the trophy this time. Here is a retrospective of our campaign as we see it.
The competition at KIS4 was fierce, and every match pushed our roster to its limits. Looking back at our match history during the crucial stages of the tournament, every map played was a step toward our growth.
- vs DMT (2 – 3): We started with a grueling five-game thriller against DMT. It was a back-and-forth battle that showed our resilience, though we narrowly missed the win in the final deciding map.
- vs THQ (3 – 0): We bounced back with absolute dominance. Our strategy was flawless, our execution was sharp, and we swept THQ in a clean 3-0 victory, proving why we are a force to be reckoned with in Honor of Kings.
- vs KAGE (0 – 3): In the final stretch, we faced a tough challenge against KAGE. Despite our best efforts to adapt to their playstyle, we couldn’t find the momentum needed, ending our run in the semifinals.
Finishing in the Top 4 of a major international invitational is no small feat. For us at BOOM Esports, KIS4 was about more than just the results; it was about the experience of competing on home soil in Jakarta and feeling the incredible energy of the Indonesian fans.
We are taking the lessons from KIS4 back to the training room. The “Hungry Beast” isn’t satisfied—we are more motivated than ever to come back stronger, faster, and more dominant in the next season.
