It’s never easy to conclude a tournament run earlier than planned. After a hard-fought battle in VCL SEA: Split 1, BOOM Esports the Hungry Beast has officially finished its campaign for the first split of 2026.
While our latest update might signal the end of this chapter, it also marks the beginning of a deep-dive into our performance. We know the expectations are high, we feel them too and we want to be transparent about the journey we just took through Group A.
Our path through the VALORANT Challengers Southeast Asia (VCL SEA) was a series of razor-thin margins. Placed in Group A, we faced off against NAOS Esports and Rival Esports (RVL) in a battle for playoff contention.
Here is how the scores settled:
- March 11, 2026: We opened against RVL. It was a grueling series that ended in a 1-2 loss.
- March 12, 2026: BOOM bounced back with a statement 2-1 win over NAOS Esports, proving we have the firepower to take down the region’s best.
- March 17, 2026 (The Tiebreaker): With a playoff spot on the line, we met RVL for a high-stakes rematch. Despite our efforts, the series ended 1-2, bringing our run to a close.
We see the comments and we hear the passion. Whether it’s frustration over specific plays or questions about our roster’s consistency, we don’t take your feedback lightly. We recognize the advantages we have—a dedicated Gaming House, a professional coaching staff, and a legacy in Indonesian esports since 2020.
Being the Hungry Beast means never being satisfied with “almost.” We understand that to remain a Tier 1 organization, we must translate our infrastructure and history into consistent results on the server. To those who feel we’ve hit a plateau: we are listening, and we are working to prove otherwise.
We want to thank every fan who stood by BOOM during this split. Your energy is what drives us to improve. We aren’t going anywhere—the Beast is just getting ready for the next hunt.
“Thank you for your support. We’ll comeback stronger at split 2.”
