Due to change in ESL One Rio that moved to November 2020, ESL will host the first of multiple regional competitions. This will act as the official qualification for CS:GO Major. All teams which had already qualified for the Rio Major and Minors will take part in the competition. This also includes BOOM Esports who qualified to the Americas Minor for ESL One Rio.
Qualification for the Major will consist of various competitions that will grant points into Regional Major Rankings. The teams with the most points will qualify to the Major as Legends, Challengers, and Contenders (formerly New Challengers) depending on their position and regional slot distribution. The first of these tournaments will be ESL One: Road to Rio. BOOM Esports will participate in the South America qualifier.

The South America qualifier will be held on 22-26 April with the prize pool US$10,000. Teams will compete for ranking points that determine their regional major status. As for SA qualifier, only 1 team that qualify for contender slot.
